Our Story & Mission

Our mission is to bring hope, comfort, and joy to children and families in Redwood City and throughout San Mateo County by uniting first responder agencies in a shared commitment to giving back. Beyond answering calls for service, we stand alongside our community during the holiday season and throughout the year, collecting and distributing new toys to children in need. Through compassion, generosity, and partnership, we strive to brighten young lives and strengthen the bond between first responders and the families we proudly serve.

The holiday season is a time of joy, happiness, family, and friendship. This year, the Redwood City Police and Fire Department, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Activities League (SAL), PAL Center, California Highway Patrol, Parks Recreation and Community Services, San Carlos Fire Department, Woodside Fire Department, California Highway Patrol, Redwood City 330 Squad Club, and the CARON Project in order to continue our annual Redwood City / San Mateo County Christmas Toy and Book Drive. With help from the Fair Oaks Community Center and a corps of volunteers, this annual event has become a welcomed tradition in the Redwood City community. This tradition can only happen with the community’s help.

Last year, over 130 local businesses filled 150+ donation barrels with toys. In return, these toys were provided to over 800 families that needed assistance. Deliveries usually take place with Santa Claus riding in a police car or a fire engine and personally delivering presents to kids and families. This priceless experience gives the kids a thrill they’ll long remember.

Our Toy Drive relies on the generosity of community partners and donated toys to serve more than 500 families each year. Toy Donations

We accept new, unused toys year-round to help bring joy to children in our community. All donated items must be suitable for youth ages 0 to 12 and in their original packaging when possible. To ensure safety and appropriateness, we gladly accept stuffed animals and plush toys that are new and clean, but we do not accept toy guns or weapon-related items of any kind. Our goal is to provide fun, safe, and age-appropriate gifts that every child can enjoy.
